Man United transfer target to be offered new deal by current club

Strootman.jpgManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern hoping to see their club pull-off a move for a long-term transfer target have had their hopes dashed today, amid the latest reports from the continent.

Kevin Strootman has been a top-target for Louis Van Gaal since he took over at Manchester United, with the Red Devils putting him top of their wish-list for the summer, but injury problems with the Dutch international scuppered a move.

Whilst those issues persist, United still remain keen but a major blow has emerged as reports in Italy indicate Roma will offer Strootman a new contract as they rally support for the injury-plagued star through his latest setback.

25-year-old Strootman underwent knee surgery for the third time in September and is expected to be out until the New Year, where Roma hope he can finally put the issues behind him and prove to be a valuable asset at the Stadio Olimpico.

News of an extended deal scuppers United’s transfer plans, with our regulars distraught that they look likely to miss out on yet another prime transfer target.

United fans, is it worth pursuing Strootman? Let us know in the comments below!
