Man United weighing up major swoop for five-time title winner as Griezmann deal hits difficulty

Manchester United supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are still coming to terms with their frustrating 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

Mourinho’s outfit simply couldn’t break down Eddie Howe’s resilient Cherries, who managed to hold on to secure a vital point in their battle to remain in the top-flight.

As is the nature of this establishment, the Transfer Tavern is a perfect hub for United fans to discuss the latest gossip and rumours regarding transfers, and our landlord has provided one hell of a story for the Red Devils patrons today.

As per the Independent, United are supposedly looking into signing alternative forwards as their pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann becomes difficult – and the media outlet claims Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe are potential options.

Lewandoswki, a five-time title winner, twice with Dortmund, twice with Bayern and once with Lech Poznan, is a player that the United fans here in the Tavern would seriously love to have at Old Trafford.

The Polish striker is one of the best strikers in world football, and the prospect of having Ibrahimovic and Lewandowski as a front two is getting too much for some Red Devils fans here, with a number of them having to go outside to calm down!

Mbappe is another player with the world at his feet at Monaco, though it seems the general consensus here in the pub, is that if a deal for Griezmann is not possible, Lewandowski is the perfect man.

If United fans want a reminder of just how good the 28-year-old Polish forward is, all you have to do is check out the video below…
