The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have seen a few good Brazilians come through the system at Old Trafford…
However, Manchester United’s acquisition of Brazilian starlets has been less than impressive in recent years, with players like Anderson and Fabio – players once touted as the next big thing by the United fans in the Tavern – failing to reach the level that was expected of them.
Hyped to the moon, they simply never made it.
But could they be able to seal a move for the next big thing in Brazilian football?
According to the Daily Mail, United have taken Brazilian starlet Matheus Marcosi on a trial, with United coaches keen to see what the 16-year-old can do.
This is not the first time that Marcosi has been requested at Old Trafford. In fact, the Daily Mail are reporting that he has been at the club on a number of occasions in hope of securing a permanent deal with the Manchester giants.
He plays for Desportivo Brasil – a side in the fourth Brazilian tier. Able to play in midfield and defence, not much else is known about Marcosi.
Our landlord thinks the deal could definitely happen. The fact that he’s been brought back to the club again would seem to imply that the United brass are very keen on him.
United have a proud tradition of youth progression at the club – could Marcosi be next?
