Manchester United romped to victory over Newcastle United yesterday, demolishing the Geordies 4-1 after going 1-0 down to a Dwight Gayle goal in the first half.
The Red Devils have looked well this season, and although they still appear some way off Man City, there’s reason to be cheerful at Old Trafford for fans hoping to see the Premier League title return to their grasp before the end of Jose Mourinho’s tenure.
However, our landlord has been getting a tad concerned lately that one of United’s supposed top young talent has been getting overlooked, and he thinks that Mourinho needs to show a bit more faith in that player between now and the end of the season. That player? Left back, Luke Shaw.
Shaw signed for United as one of the most promising young players in the country, but a nasty injury and a struggle to return to full fitness and form has seen Shaw drop away in the pecking order at Old Trafford, but there’s no reason he cannot make a good fist of his career with United.
The former Southampton man has plenty of ability, and it would be unjust of United to give up on the England man just yet.
If Mourinho can get the best out of Shaw and get him back playing to the standard he showed for the Saints, then the Red Devils might just have one of the countries best left backs on their hands for years to come.
