Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been raving about a new name this season and they’re pleased to see he’s set to be rewarded for his breakthrough.
A source told ESPN that Marcus Rashford could be called up for England U21 duty this summer, although Roy Hodgson will resist the calls to bring the teenage striker into the first-team fold before Euro 2016.
Rashford has scored six goals in eleven appearances this season, which includes a brace against Arsenal and a tremendous strike in the FA Cup quarter-final against West Ham, which led to ambitious calls from some supporters to see the 18-year-0ld fast-tracked into the Three Lions set-up.
Understandably, Hodgson doesn’t want to hand the young talent such a chance due to the enormous pressure that would follow- whilst England’s strike force for the summer seems pretty set with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane.
However, Rashford will get his chance in an England jersey soon and could be called-up for the U21 Euro 2017 qualifier against Norway in September.
