Man United’s hopes of securing PSG attacker handed hefty blow

CavaniManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been dreaming of world-class additions in January to bolster their Premier League title quest but it appears one name is off the table.

Talksport says United boss Louis Van Gaal is extremely interested in bringing Edinson Cavani to the Premier League but Paris Saint-Germain aren’t interested in parting ways with the Uruguayan.

The runaway Ligue 1 leaders face major changes in 2016, with all-time leading goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to depart. As such, Cavani could finally get his chance through the middle rather than being shifted out-wide to accommodate the Swedish legend.

However, links concerning an exit for Cavani continue to rise but it’s stated PSG will only be prepared to accept a deal if they seal a high-profile replacement.

With PSG looking for a top-name to replace Ibrahimovic, the chances of them also lining-up a big star to replace Edinson Cavani seem to be rather limited- which seems to put Cavani off the table for Manchester United.

Fans in the bar have conceded they aren’t too fussed regarding this deal and believe Cavani would be overpriced anyway, whilst they’d rather a younger striker was signed.

United fans, would Cavani be a good signing? Let us know in the comments below!
