Man United’s prime striking target reveals he’s open to offers

Mauro IcardiManchester United have four games to save their season but the fans in the Transfer Tavern think their chances are over, so they’re instead eyeing the latest news on the transfer market.

Metro have given the Red Devils a significant boost heading into the close-season, as they quote Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi as revealing he’s open to offers this summer.

Icardi, who is captain of the Italian giants, has attracted a wealth of interest with his fine form on the continent but it hasn’t been enough to improve the fortunes of Roberto Mancini’s side, who look set to miss out on a Champions League spot.

With four games to go, Inter are seven points behind third-placed Roma and Icardi hinted he could leave the club if they fail to qualify for Europe’s elite competition.

‘The possibility to qualify for the Champions League is almost gone, but we will keep on trying. There are still four games and we must try to do well, even if we have to compete with a strong team like Roma.’

‘My future without the Champions? I am here to win with this club, but if there will be some offers, we’ll have to talk with the club. I think about playing’

With United also facing a test to overhaul Manchester City in fourth-place, currently sat just two points behind the Citizens, whether the Red Devils qualify for the Champions League could prove decisive in their quest to sign Icardi.
