Man United’s quest to sign global superstar unsuccessful, deal signed

NeymarManchester United fans are going through their vocabulary of curse words in the Transfer Tavern today, after it emerged that their quest to sign a global superstar has hit the rocks.

ESPN Brasil state that Neymar has agreed a new contract with Barcelona that will run for a further five years, until 2012, which subsequently ends any speculation of the Brazilian star being on the move this summer.

The Catalan side have been locked in negotiations with Neymar for the past few months, with numerous suggestions that Barcelona’s financial situation means one of their prized ‘MSN’ trio may have to be offloaded.

It seems that man will not be Neymar though, as the 24-year-old has penned a three-year extension to his deal that expired in 2018- which keeps the Ballon D’Or finalist tied with the Catalan giants until he is 29-years-old.

Our landlord is not surprised by these reports, as he feels links between Neymar and Manchester United were never anything more than paper talk.
