The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern think that his time is up…
Since his arrival in Manchester, Memphis Depay has failed to set the Premier League alight, and it would appear that he is facing the consequences under Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese boss has largely utilised the winger as a bit-part player this season, owing to his ineffectiveness and inconsistency in front of goal; and it would appear that the Dutchman is ready to call time on his Man Utd career.
According to the Guardian, Depay is open to a move away from Man Utd after a dismal spell in the Premier League – with Turkish giants Fenerbahce keen on a loan move.
It has certainly been a disappointing fall from grace for the Dutchman, with the Man Utd fans by the bar once waxing lyrical about his potential and how well he would fit into the Man Utd first team.
Depay has started just 16 times since arriving in Manchester, and has yet to make a start under Jose Mourinho in the league this season.
For a player that was once touted as the Netherlands’ best by a few of our punters – our landlord was expecting a much bigger impact from the Dutchman.
The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern think that a loan move could be best. If he performs well on loan, he could get another chance at Man Utd – meaning that the move would be low risk for the Red Devils.
