Man Utd and Chelsea representatives reportedly jet off to Portugal on scouting mission

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see Antonio Conte secure a few major signings this summer…

The Italian has been impressive this season, but if he delivers the impossible and provides Roman Abramovich with a Premier League title, the challenge is only going to increase in difficulty next season.

Indeed, Conte will be expected to retain his title – and in order to do that, he will need to secure a few major squad improvements this summer. It certainly seems as though that process is well underway, with the Blues joined by Man Utd in an apparent scouting mission.

According to A Bola, Chelsea were joined by a host of clubs, including Man Utd, in watching Benfica vs Porto over the weekend – a game that finished 1-1 – with a number of teams reportedly watching the game with a keen eye.

The fans in the Transfer Tavern have since been wondering who they could have been targeting, and a number of players have been mentioned in the pub. Both sets of supporters have drawn up a list of names that they think could fit in at their team. Indeed, for Man Utd, Victor Lindelof could be an option this summer, whilst Nelson Semedo and Rafa Silva have also impressed this year. Chelsea will likely be tracking a fairly similar list of players, with Yacine Brahimi perhaps in their line of view.
