Man Utd and Man City could battle it out in January over highly-rated 27-year-old – report

Danny Rose’s future is looking very uncertain at Tottenham, but there are more than a few fans in the Transfer Tavern that would love to have him at their club. Rose has, of course, been out of action for much of 2017, but he returned a few weeks ago and has looked good since that point.  It is the next few weeks, though, that could reportedly determine his future.

According to the Times, there is a chance that both Man Utd and Man City could battle it out for Rose in January, with the Red Devils said to be keen and the Citizens perhaps ready to return for the man that they moved for last summer. Significantly, it is said, if his role is limited over the next few weeks as Tottenham’s fixture rate begins to pick up, his departure in January could become somewhat of a foregone conclusion.

Rose is a solid option for Tottenham, but after an interview with the Sun over the summer brought to light his frustrations at the club, his long-term future has remained unassured. Having missed out on a starting berth over the weekend, that tale is only going to come to the foreground once more.

He’s a fan favourite amongst the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern, but his fate seemingly hangs between Pochettino’s palms.

Landlord’s Verdict

With the emergence of Ben Davies, a departure for Rose isn’t the most outlandish prospect at present.

Man City’s interest makes sense, given Benjamin Mendy’s long-term injury, whilst Man Utd’s failure to bring the best out of Luke Shaw has left them needing a left back.

Whether Tottenham decide to sell, though, is a different prospect entirely.
