The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a lot of business at Old Trafford this summer…
A move for Real Madrid ace Alvaro Morata appears to be edging closer, whilst Jose Mourinho will also likely be desperate to land a few other deals this summer too.
However, it doesn’t look like Man Utd’s only deals will be with regards to incoming players. On the contrary, it looks like a few sales could be on the cards too.
One such player that could be involved in that regard is goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, with the Daily Mail noting that Man Utd are ready to move the goalkeeper on. He is said to be rated at around £5 million.
Now 24-years-old, Johnstone has impressed in recent years whilst on loan, displaying his efficiency in goal for teams including Aston Villa.
It was always going to be tough for Johnstone to make an impact at Man Utd, with so many top goalkeepers on display at Old Trafford in recent years.
David De Gea, of course, is one of Europe’s best, and he has made life very tough for any rivals between the sticks for the Red Devils. Sergio Romero is no slouch, either, and has impressed when given the chance.
Still, Johnstone is clearly a very good talent, and whilst he might not make it at Old Trafford, our landlord is confident that he’s good enough. Sunderland are said to be interested, and a move to the Black Cats might be a wise one.
