Man Utd, Chelsea handed significant boost in transfer battle

Our Manchester United and Chelsea fans have had plenty to discuss in recent times with the rivalry between the two clubs turning up a notch last season.

Indeed, whilst the Blues were streets ahead on the pitch there was evident bad blood between Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte last season and so the two are bound to want to get one over the other next year, too.

For sure, then, they’ll likely be battling for the best players available in the transfer market and it appears the pair have both been given a boost in the chase for James Rodriguez.

Indeed, the Colombian’s future is up for debate at the moment with him not a first team regular at Real Madrid and Mundo Deportivo – via TMW – has claimed the Premier League sides could benefit from AC Milan pulling out of the race.

Indeed, the Italian giants look set to focus their attentions elsewhere in the market and so the two Premier League sides, if they want to go for Rodriguez, now have a slightly clearer route.
