Jose Mourinho is a manager that has garnered a reputation as someone that doesn’t utilise young players, though the Man Utd fans in the pub are hoping that he will change whilst at Old Trafford…
They have already seen Marcus Rashford force his way into the first team, though that was more out of need rather than want from Mourinho’s perspective, and if a recent report from the Mirror is to be believed, the Portuguese could be keen on overseeing another young player’s route into the first team.
According to the Mirror, Jose Mourinho is keen on rivalling Tottenham for Fulham sensation Ryan Sessegnon, with the youngster now able to sign professional terms. He has yet to agree a deal with Fulham, and so he could be available for far below his market value this summer, with the Mirror noting that a fee of around £15 million or even a compensation fee could be enough to seal the deal.
It will come as no surprise to learn that a queue is beginning to form for Sessegnon, with the Fulham ace really impressing this season. Despite his tender years, he has forced his way into the Cottagers’ first team, making 17 starts in the Championship throughout the course of the season.
Though naturally a defender, he is also more than proficient going forward, with his versatility likely a trait that is impressing both Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino.
Our landlord is expecting the queue for the 17-year-old to get even bigger in the coming weeks…
