Man Utd facing tough test as Mourinho looks to land deal for 28-goal attacker

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to stay at the club this summer…

However, it seems as though those hopes have taken a hit – with Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly giving Man Utd an ultimatum. According to the Mirror, the Swede will only sign a new deal at Old Trafford on several conditions – the most significant of which relies upon the club winning the Europa League this season. Furthermore, he is reportedly demanding a sizeable investment in the side this summer – with the Swede seemingly desperate to secure a Premier League trophy.

Certainly, Ibrahimovic is well within his right to demand success – given how crucial he has been at Man Utd this season. Having bagged a remarkable 28 goals already, the Red Devils would certainly find it hard to replace him.

The good news for the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, though, is that most of these goals are obtainable. Jose Mourinho’s side are certainly the favourites for the Europa League, and provided any major slip-ups, it is widely expected in the pub that the Red Devils will win the trophy – resultantly securing Champions League football ahead of next season.

Likewise, given Man Utd’s spending last season, you would imagine that Mourinho will be given free reign once more, with the Portuguese manager likely as desperate as Zlatan to achieve Premier League glory next season.

Our landlord thinks that whilst Ibrahimovic is certainly demanding a lot, there is still a realistic chance of him staying.
