Man Utd facing tough test to land £45m-rated attacker this summer

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are still waiting for Jose Mourinho’s summer spending to get underway…

The Portuguese manager has a big job on his hands this summer as he looks to turn the Red Devils into a title winning outfit, with the arrival of several big players expected at Old Trafford this summer by the fans in the pub.

It seems as though his job has gotten tougher, too, with Sky Sports correspondent taking to Twitter to report that whilst Ivan Perisic is a key Man Utd target this summer, Inter Milan are said to be looking to hold on to him. As a result, a huge £45 million could be demanded by the club.

This will come as a big blow for Mourinho, with Perisic clearly a top talent. He bagged 11 goals and 8 assists last season, playing a key role for Inter as the side finished 7th in Serie A.

A fee of £45 million certainly wouldn’t price Man Utd out of a move, but it would certainly raise question marks regarding whether the club are utilising their funds wisely.

That being said, our landlord isn’t quite sure how Perisic would fit into the Man Utd first team. The Red Devils already have a number of top attackers, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata just to name a few, and many of them have impressed lately. Sure, Perisic is a great player, but it is hard to suggest that he would come in and immediately take over from any of the current crop of midfielders.
