Man Utd fans want club to avoid big-money Jerome Boateng deal

With only a few days to go until the transfer window slams shut, it isn’t a good time to be a Man Utd fan. The Red Devils are still, realistically, lacking a few faces if they want to compete at the highest level, with improvements needed up and down the pitch.

Without a doubt, the most pressing area of concern is in the defence. Joses Mourinho needs more quality, with the error-prone likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones simply not good enough anymore.

That, then, goes a long way to explaining the latest player to be linked with the Red Devils. According to SPORTBILD’s Christian Falk, Man Utd are in interested in a move for Bayern Munich defensive veteran Jerome Boateng.

The 29-year-old would likely be a costly option for the Red Devils, given his stature, but not many players can boast the proven experience and quality that he can.

Still, the move hasn’t gone down well with fans. Many Man Utd supporters have taken to Twitter over the last day or so to discuss the reports, and it’s fair to say that a move for the German isn’t something that they’d like to see.

Indeed, it seems that they’d rather target someone that’s younger and that has a better injury record.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
