The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are patiently awaiting their side’s first signing of the summer…
However, it looks like they could be waiting for a while yet, with Sky Sports correspondent Kaveh Solhekol reporting that Man Utd have hit a stumbling block in their pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic. According to Solhekol, Man Utd are keen on him at a value of around £30 million, whilst Inter have earmarked him a closer to the £50 million mark.
Whilst there is no mention of Mourinho backing down, or indeed the Red Devils even coughing up the extra cash, it certainly seems clear that Man Utd are far and away from the required figure at present, and so a move still seems to be some way off.

Man United think Ivan Perisic is worth £30m. Inter Milan value him between £48m and £52m. Inter want to replace him with James Rodriguez

This has come as a disappointing blow for the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern, with many touting Perisic as a top class signing for their club. He has, of course, impressed for Inter Milan this year – picking up 11 goals in the Italian top flight – and leaving the fans in the pub drooling into their pint glasses as a result.
Indeed, our landlord is inclined to agree, and he thinks that an attacking midfield trio of Mkhitaryan, Pogba and Perisic could become deadly next season. Whether that deal comes to fruition remains to be seen, though.
