Man Utd in the race for £17.7m-rated man that is said to be perfect for the Premier League

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for a few more signings. Jose Mourinho has spent big since moving to Old Trafford, and so far he has been very successful. Most of the players that he has brought in have been a success, with the likes of Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan impressing. Reports of a fresh Man Utd target, then, are generating a lot of excitement in the Transfer Tavern.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Man Utd are in the race for Barcelona winger José Arnáiz, who has recently made his debut for the Spanish side’s first team.  His current release clause is reportedly around the €20 million (£17.7 million) mark, and though that could double when he is officially promoted to the Barcelona first team, he would still represent decent value for the club.

Quick, technical and impressive, the 22-year-old certainly has a bright future, though it remains to be seen whether that future will be in Spain or, indeed, in England.

Landlord’s Verdict

Man Utd aren’t exactly blessed with attacking depth, and so it’s no real surprise that Mourinho is keen to secure a bit more. Sure, he has the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata to call upon, but given how many games the club have coming up, you can never really have too many players.

He has a decent goalscoring record this season, having already bagged 4 goals in the Spanish second division, and so it’s no surprise that he is garnering attention.

Barcelona will want to hold on to him, though, so it won’t be easy.
