The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are loving life under Jose Mourinho…
After a rocky few weeks earlier in the season, the Portuguese boss has managed to steady the ship at Old Trafford – with positive things undoubtedly on the horizon for the Man Utd faithful in the Transfer Tavern.
Whilst a Premier League title challenge and even Champions League football are far from assured, it is clear that Mourinho has been making waves at Old Trafford since his arrival – and it would appear as though the Man Utd brass are recognising that.
According to the Sun, Man Utd plan to hold contract talks with Mourinho at the end of the current campaign – with an extension to his current 3-year-deal reportedly set to be discussed.
A source has revealed to the Sun that the Man Utd owners are ‘on board’ with a 1-year extension for Mourinho – though any deal is unlikely to include a pay rise.
This is certainly a positive step for the Man Utd fans in the Tavern, with many delighted at what they’ve seen from Mourinho so far. Often a divisive manager, Mourinho appears to be taking a step back from the spotlight as of late, and that can only mean good things for Man Utd.
Elsewhere, it would appear though the Man Utd brass aren’t the only figures at Old Trafford that are loving life with Mourinho, with defender Phil Jones revealing to Manchester Evening News that Mourinho is the man that convinced him to stay after a tough spell under Louis van Gaal.
Good news all round at Old Trafford, then.
