The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a few transfer deals over the coming weeks…
Despite an upturn in fortunes in recent weeks, there is still genuine concern amongst the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern that their side might miss out on European football this season – and they think that Jose Mourinho simply must address it.
Man Utd have been on a decent run as of late, but given that the side is currently sat in 6th place in the Premier League – Champions League football is certainly not a foregone conclusion ahead of next season.
For this season, the Red Devils in the Tavern want to see a few reinforcements come in – and it would appear as though Jose Mourinho agrees.
According to the Sun, Man Utd will make a £47.6 million move for Roma defender Kostas Manolas – with Mourinho seemingly looking to improve his faltering defensive line.
The proposed deal may not be an easy one, though, with Roma reportedly wanting to hold out for £52 million – but Mourinho will be hoping that the Italian side will be willing to part with their star defender for slightly less.
Manolas has made 15 starts for AS Roma so far this season, with the Serie A side impressing in the Italian top flight – with Manolas a key part of their stellar defensive line. Offering strong passing and impressive aerial dominance – Manolas is your typical modern central defender – and our landlord thinks that he would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford.
