Man Utd receive transfer boost as defender is reportedly open to Old Trafford move

It has been a whirlwind day for the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern…

After a pretty disappointing summer for the Lilywhites, their mood has worsened today after some pretty revealing quotes from Danny Rose, with the Englishman revealing that he is open to a move away from the club during an interview with the Sun. Among other things, Rose expressed a desire to play in the north of England before his career ends, perking up a few ears in the Transfer Tavern

This is, of course, pretty disappointing news for Tottenham – with Rose a top talent and arguably one of their most consistent players in recent years.

However, it appears as though Man Utd could benefit from the revelations, with Sky Sports now reporting that Danny Rose would like to join the Red Devils or Chelsea this summer if Tottenham were to sell him.

Given Rose’s comments that he wants to play up north, the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern think that they are in the driving seat for a move, though any deal remains some way off.

Of course, it has been reported over the last few days that Jose Mourinho is keen on a move for Rose, and so the Portuguese will likely be delighted at the news.

Still, a move will be difficult to secure, but the pieces are beginning to come together for the Red Devils.

Landlord’s Verdict

Danny Rose appears to have backed himself into a corner with these revelations, with the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern keen to see him leave the club.

For Man Utd, news of an interest in moving to Old Trafford is certainly a huge boost, with his position proving a real troublesome one to fill for Jose Mourinho at present. They’ll have to compete with Chelsea, of course, but Man Utd will feel confident in their chances.

This story could become a real saga over the coming weeks.
