The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with their side’s progress this summer, but they are expecting even more…
With players like Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof already brought through the door at Old Trafford, things are beginning to look far better under Jose Mourinho, and according to Sky Sports, there is still more to come.
Sky Sports report that Man Utd are close to securing an agreement with Inter Milan for the transfer of Ivan Perisic, with the Red Devils seemingly finally making progress in their pursuit of the winger.

Perisic differs from most of Man Utd’s recent signings in that he is 28-years-old, signalling that the Red Devils’ focus is not entirely on the future. Rather, it seems as though Jose Mourinho is keen to achieve immediate success, and the arrival of experienced players is vital to that cause. For all the talent that players like Lukaku, Lindelof and Pogba bring, they are all still developing and honing their craft, whilst Perisic is already in the prime of his career. As Man Utd look to win trophies, that will be very important.
Given the recent departures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney and as Michael Carrick edges towards the end of his career, Mourinho clearly values the knowledge of winning trophies and playing years of football – which explains his interest in Perisic.
Beyond that, the Croation is also a natural winger – something that Man Utd don’t really have at present – which will combine fantastically with the aerial prowess of Romelu Lukaku.
Our landlord is expecting this deal to get tied up quickly.
