Man Utd reportedly considering move for £54.4m-rated attacker as Mourinho’s studies his options

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern think that one new player could be all the Red Devils need this summer…

It has been a sensational summer for Jose Mourinho, with a number of top players moving to Old Trafford. Big names like Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic have rejuvenated a side that had mixed fortunes last season – leaving supporters feeling optimistic.

However, with just under two weeks to go until the transfer window closes, there is still a feeling of expectation at Old Trafford, with one more signing potentially on the cards.

Jose Mourinho seemingly agrees, and according to the Daily Record, he is looking to bring in at least one more big name. Duncan Castles of the Daily Record writes that Man Utd are considering a move for €60 million (£54.4 million) rated attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar, who has also attracted Arsenal all summer long.

Monaco are, obviously keen to hold on to their prized asset, but with Jose Mourinho’s side not afraid to spend this summer – it’s clear that a sizeable price tag may not put them off.

Any deal will, of course, be hard to come by, but the fans in the Transfer Tavern would love to see it happen.

Landlord’s Verdict

It’s been a great summer so far, but the signing of Lemar would make it even sweeter.

He was a standout player in a very impressive Monaco team last season, and whilst he is still young and undeveloped, he is already one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders.

The Frenchman would represent great value for money in a market that is increasingly difficult to predict.
