Man Utd reportedly ‘hopeful’ of securing a deal for 57-cap international

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are still hoping for a few more signings to come this summer…

They are, of course, delighted at the already confirming signings of Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof, but with the return of the Champions League next season combined with a desire to win back the Premier League trophy – it is clear that Jose Mourinho has his work cut out.

Indeed, the difficult nature of his work has been made no more apparent than in a proposed move for Ivan Perisic. According to the Telegraph, Man Utd are still locked in negotiations over a deal, but it does appear that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It is said that Man Utd are still ‘hopeful’ of securing a deal for him, with Jose Mourinho keen to improve his attacking options.

Perisic isn’t a signing that is generating much excitement in the Transfer Tavern, but most supporters can see why Jose Mourinho is keen. Man Utd’s squad at present is full of talent, but with the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney, the club are lacking experience – and Perisic would certainly bring that.

He has been a regular for Inter Milan since moving in 2015, and the 57 caps that he has made at international level highlight just how reliable he has been for club and country.

Our landlord is backing Perisic to be a success at Man Utd if Ed Woodward ends up coughing up enough cash to land him.
