A lot of fun has been had in the Transfer Tavern by the Man Utd fans this season…
Their side has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, and with Jose Mourinho’s men continuing to impress, it’s looking set to be a fantastic campaign.
Every player has picked their form up this season, and players that were formerly cast aside as fringe players are quickly coming into the fold in a more prominent manner.
One such player is Marouane Fellaini. Clearly a Mourinho favourite, the Belgian’s strong and robust midfield play aligns perfectly with the manager’s philosophy.
Unfortunately, though, Jose may not be able to enjoy having the Belgian around for much longer, with the Daily Mail reporting that there has been a snag in efforts to secure a new deal for the midfielder. Though an offer has been made, it reportedly falls short of his demands – and with less than a year on his current deal, that is a worry for the Red Devils.
They’re running the risk of losing him on a free at present, and with terms clearly some way from being agreed, there is a genuine chance that he could be lost on a free.
The mere prospect of that is sure to anger Mourinho, and the manager will not want to lose the midfielder at any price. Hard work is on the horizon for Man Utd’s negotiation teams, it seems.
Though not a stylish or exciting player like Paul Pogba or Romelu Lukaku, Fellaini is the type of figure that every squad needs.
Able to feature when needed to hold onto a lead or secure a last-minute equaliser, the Belgian is an efficient player and always delivers a performance when called upon.
Man Utd can’t afford to lose him.
