Man Utd reportedly leading the race for 28-goal forward as club move on from Griezmann

For the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, finding a Zlatan Ibrahimovic replacement is the priority for Jose Mourinho this summer…

It has been thought that Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann would be moving to Man Utd this summer, but according to Sky Sports, the Red Devils appear to have cooled their interest in the forward.

However, never a manager to rest on his laurels, it appears as though Jose Mourinho has quickly found the player to target in place of the striker, and according to sports journalist Bilel Ghazi, they are at the front of the queue for one of Griezmann’s French compatriots.

According to Bilel Ghazi on Twitter, Man Utd are now leading the race for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, who has been in sensational form for the French outfit in recent years.

A remarkable 28 league goals in Ligue 1 in the 2016/17 season have made everyone in the Football Transfer Tavern stand up and take notice, with the lethal frontman seemingly on the radar of some of Europe’s top clubs.

For Man Utd, he could be the perfect solution. At 26-years-old, he is just entering the prime of his career, and with the Red Devils lacking lethality under Mourinho, the deadly Frenchman could be just what they need.
