The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern have spent all week worrying about Wednesday night’s clash with Ajax…
The real test lies ahead for the Red Devils, though, and whilst the fans in the Transfer Tavern are confident that Jose Mourinho’s side will impress next season, they can’t help but think that their side’s poor showing in the Premier League this season was a missed opportunity. Next season, Jose Mourinho won’t be forgiven for a poor showing domestically, though the fans in the pub aren’t too confident that a title challenge will come, given the vast gap in quality between Man Utd and the likes of Chelsea.
However, a recent report has certainly perked up the mood of those in the pub, with Marca delivering a rather interesting update on the status of Man Utd’s interest in Antoine Griezmann. Man Utd have reportedly laid an offer out on the table for Griezmann, with the Frenchman apparently set to be offered a whopping €14 million per year to move to Old Trafford.
Translating to around £12 million-per-year, or around £230,000-per-week, the offer could certainly prove tempting for Griezmann, with the Red Devils seemingly ready to make him one of the best-paid players at the club.
With fans looking for a return to the top of the Premier League, many feel that a player like Griezmann could really increase their chances in that regard – with the Frenchman easily good enough to vastly improve the quality of the Man Utd first team.
Our landlord is backing Man Utd to impress next season if Griezmann comes on board.
