Man Utd should make a move for this £9m-rated attacker this summer – here’s why

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for their side to land one more signing…

The Red Devils have enjoyed a spectacular summer, but it could get better with another major signing, and our landlord thinks that Arjen Robben could be the perfect target.

Sure, at 33-years-old, he isn’t going to be a long-term solution, but what the Dutch winger would bring is consistency. He has been at the top of his game for the best part of a decade, and despite his years, he doesn’t look to be slowing down.

Famed for his ability to cut in and shoot with his stronger foot, Robben’s goalscoring threat is not dissipating, and he would offer something very different to the rest of the wingers in Jose Mourinho’s locker.

Mourinho is an important figure to note in this discussion, as the Portuguese is well aware of what the winger can do. He has managed him before at Chelsea, and he impressed whilst in London. That may have been a long time ago, but he’s every bit as good as he was then.

Perhaps most significantly, Robben is also a player that has won everything there is to win. He has played for some of Europe’s best clubs, and his tenure at Bayern has been his most successful yet. Still, though, at 33-years-old, he could look for a change – and Man Utd could offer him the perfect home.

With so much potential quality in the Man Utd attack, the likes of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard could be revolutionised by the arrival of Robben – with the Dutchman arguably one of Europe’s most experienced and proven wingers. He could teach them so much. Rated at £9m by Transfer Markt, he would also represent a fairly cheap option in the modern market.

With Mourinho said to be considering Robben as an option, this move would be genius.
