Man Utd still keen on 23-year-old midfielder, could look to make move this summer

For the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, the centre of their midfield is in desperate need of improvement…

Ander Hererra had a good year last season, and Paul Pogba looked excellent, but the Man Utd midfield seemed to lack a spark, leaving the Red Devils looking poor going forward. Though not through a lack of trying, it seemed clear that the midfield was a weak point of the Man Utd attack, and according to AS, the Red Devils could look to solve that issue this summer.

According to AS, Man Utd remain keen on Andre Gomes, who moved to Barcelona last summer, and the midfielder could be available this summer.

Gomes enjoyed a mixed debut season at the Nou Camp, largely failing to adjust to life with the Catalan giants, and so Barcelona could be looking to cut their losses this summer and move him on.

Despite his poor performances, there is no doubting his quality. On the international stage, he has been remarkable over the last few years, delivering fantastic dribbling and passing for the European Championship winners.

For Man Utd, that could be just what they need. Pogba delivers technical class, whilst Herrera adds relentless running and a tireless work rate. Our landlord thinks that Gomes could be the missing piece to the Man Utd midfield puzzle.
