Man Utd suffer blow in major summer transfer chase

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for a new striker to join the club this summer…

After all, both Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic seem to be on the way out – paving the way for a big summer signing.

However, one player that does not look immediately likely to move to Old Trafford this summer is Kylian Mbappe – with the Guardian reporting that Man Utd have had a huge £72 million bid for the striker rejected by Monaco.

It is said that a move of over £100 million will be demanded to take the Frenchman away from the Champions League semi-finalists, meaning that the Red Devils will be forced to stump up around £30 million more if they want to get their man.

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty disappointed with this, particularly because they don’t think that Man Utd will be able to afford to pay much more for the Frenchman – which is unfortunate given their current circumstance.

The signing of a top forward is absolutely essential this summer, and whilst Mbappe is just one of what is sure to be a long list of targets – our landlord thinks that the Frenchman was undoubtedly the best fit.
