Man Utd summer transfer edges closer as club reportedly secure ‘agreement’

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for Jose Mourinho to begin his summer spending…

The club are seemingly edging ever closer to making that happen, with Man Utd reportedly closing in on a deal for Espanyol midfielder Arnau Puigmal. According to Sport, the club have reached an agreement with the player of a summer move, with the Red Devils seemingly in the final stages of making a deal come to fruition.

The deal would mark the start of what is expected to be a pretty busy summer at Old Trafford, with Jose Mourinho’s first full season in charge coming to an end and with the prospect of the return of Champions League football potentially on the table next year.

Unfortunately for the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, any deal for Puigmal is unlikely to have much impact next season, given that he is just 16-years-old. That being said, though, the midfielder has impressed during his time with the Espanyol youth team – with midfielder a star during the recently held Mediterranean International Cup tournament.

The midfielder will likely move to the Man Utd youth team, which has been successful in recent years. With the emergence of players like Marcus Rashford, the group is becoming a hotbed for young talent. Our landlord thinks that the midfielder will have the best chance of making it were he to move to Old Trafford.
