The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are keen to see him at Old Trafford…
Since his arrival in the Premier League, Jose Mourinho has developed somewhat of a reputation in the Football Transfer Tavern for his reliance on the so-called ‘Old Guard’.
As opposed to buying young, exciting talent, Mourinho often chooses to rely upon the older generation of stars – with players like John Terry and Wayne Rooney becoming the heartbeat of his otherwise new-look sides.
However, it would appear that his preference for more experienced players is beginning to change; with United signing a number of young, exciting players over the summer.
Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly were, of course, the headliners – but it would appear that a less well-known figure could find himself at Old Trafford before too long…
According to the Daily Mail, Man United have sent scouts to watch Jamaican starlet Leon Bailey – currently playing for Genk in Belgium.
United reportedly sent chief scout Jim Lawlor to watch Bailey as the 19-year-old scored as Genk beat Sassuolo in the Europa League.
Bailey has played over 50 times for Genk since his move in 2015, and in that time he has scored an impressive 15 goals.
He also picked up the Belgian Young Footballer of the Year award at the end of last season, as a result of his impressive performances during the last campaign.
The Man Utd fans in the Tavern don’t know too much about him, but his impressive record in Belgium speaks for itself.
Our landlord is touting him for great things; but will that process continue at Manchester United?
