West Ham and Spurs both have their work cut out this weekend with anything less than a win for either side likely to be greeted by pantomime hisses and boos by both sets of fans.

Manager Avram Grant was asked yet again about Scott Parker and this time confirmed that enquiries, although no actual bids were indeed made by Liverpool’s Roy Hodgson and Tottenham’s Harry Redknapp.
Sceptics, myself included struggled to understand the resurgence of interest in Parker in the close season. But clearly he was, ‘on the up’ as his early goals this term have indicated.
Carlton Cole’s name was being bandied about at the same time as Parker’s but it appears now that this was merely his agent tub thumping.
