Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have received an exciting boost today, after hearing comments that could potentially improve their chances of securing an exciting transfer.
German outlet Sport Bild quote new Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti as refusing to go into details on the discussions he held with Mario Gotze, who has been heavily linked with an exit from Bavaria this summer.
“I’ve spoken to Mario on the phone. He’s aware of my opinion.”
The 23-year-old, who became a national hero two-years ago when he scored the winning goal in the World Cup final against Argentina, has endured a difficult spell with Bayern Munich since moving to the club from Borussia Dortmund and has been linked with a reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Gotze has been urged to seek a transfer by Bayern’s own CEO Karl-Heinze Rummenigge, who stated last week the player will have limited opportunities if he elects to stay at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern themselves may push for a sale, as Gotze has just one-year remaining on his contract- which means they could miss out on a huge windfall next summer.
Will Gotze reunite with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool? Let us know in the comments below!
