Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern didn’t enter the new week in the highest of spirits due to pictures that circulated at the weekend and it seems their manager is also less than impressed.
The Sun suggests Arsene Wenger has put talks with Jack Wilshere regarding a new contract on hold after the currently crocked midfielder was allegedly involved in a brawl outside a London bar, which has led to a police investigation.
Wilshere’s involvement in the incident is unknown but for a midfielder who’s been at the centre of numerous smoking scandals, and earning himself a slap on the wrist for his anti-Tottenham chants, it’s the latest in a long line for concerning incidents.
The England international currently has two-years remaining on his £80k-a-week deal but Wenger is not prepared to open talks regarding a new deal yet, whilst he’s also likely to fine the player a weeks wages.
Wilshere is yet to feature this season after suffering a leg-break before the campaign commenced but he has returned to fill training and may feature for the U21’s this week.
