Manchester City fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern still can’t work out what to make of the Joe Hart vs Pep Guardiola saga; but if this rumour is to be believed the English keeper might be on his way to the continent…
Every new season throws up some sort of mega-story or transfer saga as the new campaign unfolds, and this season has certainly been no different.
Joe Hart has been the talk of the Tavern over the last few days, after being dropped for Manchester City’s first game of the season, as well as last night’s Champion’s League clash.
Hart endured a disappointing campaign last season, with the English keeper fielding criticism for a number of mistakes. His poor form then continued into this summer European Championship, with Hart blamed for a number of key mistakes as England crashed out against Iceland.
With Claudio Bravo expected to join Pep Guardiola’s Man City over the next few days, many in the Tavern have speculated that it could be the end of Joe Hart’s Manchester City career.
Everton and Liverpool have been strongly linked with a bid for Hart, but now a Spanish side are being touted with a move.
The side in question are Sevilla, who won the Europa League at the tail end of last season and are now seemingly keen to add quality to their squad as they bid for a title chase in La Liga.
The source of the story comes from Marca (via Sport Witness), and they are suggesting that Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli is keen to bring a new keeper in, and the seemingly available Joe Hart fits the bill.
What do you think Manchester City fans? Most of the punters here in the Tavern want him to stay and fight for his place – but do you think he will?
