There are reports circulating the Transfer Tavern today which have Manchester City fans talking as one of their out-of-favour players could be set to exit the club in the near future.
An article from the Manchester Evening News has mentioned how forgotten man, Samir Nasri’s, time at Manchester City could be coming to an end in the foreseeable future.
David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri are all set to return to training this week as City look to host Liverpool at the Etihad. However, while Aguero and Silva will be likely to occupy a space on the bench for the fixture, Nasri is the last of a list of players capable of playing in similar attacking roles.
Not so long ago, Nasri was the go-to man when Manuel Pelligrini needed an attacking midfielder, capable of playing on both the left and right side of the field. However, now City have the services of Kevin De Bruyne, Jesus Navas, David Silva, Raheem Sterling and youngster Kelechi Iheanacho who are all versatile and capable of performing on a weekly basis.
Manchester City fans are undoubtedly enjoying their season so far; joint top of the Premier League table, a starting 11 filled with world class talent and top of their Champions League qualifying group.
Frustrated Frenchman, Nasri, hasn’t been needed for much of City’s success recently and a string of injuries has seen him fall right down the pecking order, debatably too far to claw his way back now.
Manchester City fans, is Nasri still a useful player to have at the club or is he no longer required for the Premier League title race? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
