Manchester City ace primed for crunch talks

tevez.jpgThere is an interesting claim here in the Football Transfer Tavern courtesy of The Sun who think that new Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini will hold talks with Carlos Tevez over his future.

The incoming manager is set to hold talks with not only Tevez but also Gareth Barry and Joelon Lescott, both of whom have been under increasing speculation regarding their future at the Etihad Stadium.

Brian Kidd claimed that his new boss will: “Look through the squad. He needs to speak to one or two players, which he’s going to do now. He’ll get a better picture now it’s official.”

Kidd also expressed how excited he was to be working under the former Malaga boss, noting: “He’ll be setting his own standards, his own philosophies on how to play. It sounds exciting.”

“I’m pleased Mr Pellegrini wants me to stay. It’s a compliment and a great honour.
“The City fans will be behind the new manager. It’s been a difficult couple of weeks — now it’s time to look to the new season and get on with it.”

Should City be looking to tie Tevez down to a longer stay? Let us know your thoughts below.
