When Manchester City won their inaugural Premier League crown it was largely down to the strength of the spine of the team. The likes of Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany were unplayable for much of that season and the boozy City lads here in the Transfer Tavern won’t let anyone forget that!
Now after a sensational start to that season, it looks again like that spine of the team is firing on all cylinders – none more so that England international goalkeeper, Joe Hart.
His shot stopping skills have seen city win all five of their opening games and Hart himself has been gaining rave reviews week in week out.
The stories trickling into the Tavern today echo these thoughts, with the Mirror reporting that goalkeeping legend Gianlugi Buffon, now 37, labelling the Englishman as a real leader and now the world’s best between the sticks!
It is some praise for the 28-year-old player, who had a humble beginning at Shrewsbury town.
What do you think City fans? Is Joe Hart the best in the world? Will he win you the league again? Let us know below!
