Manchester City ace wanted in massive £55m deal

Sergio Agüero, the Manchester City striker, wants to do the best for the club and the supportersDespite their placing near the top of the Premier League, we rarely get Manchester City supporters popping into the Football Transfer Tavern.

However a group of Citizens fans took their seats near the 46-inch plasma earlier to catch their sides teatime fixture with West Ham United.

Just before kick off, Metro journalist Jamie Sanderson brought them news that Barcelona are plotting a massive £55 million offer for star striker Sergio Aguero when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.

The Argentinean international, who signed for City from Atletico Madrid in 20011, has been on the radar at the Camp Nou for a while and now according to the latest Spanish reports, they are ready to make a massive offer to lure him back to Spain.

New Barca coach Gerard Martino is understood to have made Aguero Barca’s prime January transfer, and the club are working on a phenomenal £55 million package.

This could prove hard to reject for Manuel Pellegrini despite their notable available funds as every player has their price and the 25-year-old has been less consistent in recent times with the former Premier League champions.

Aguero would surely love the opportunity to play alongside international team-mate Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou, especially in a World Cup season and his head could be turned by this possible interest from the Catalan club.

The 25-year-old only conceded last week that he wasn’t sure if his long-term future remains at City and now the La Liga champions are hoping to use this uncertainty to land the impressive attacker.

Real Madrid have also been linked with Aguero in recent months as they look for an alternative to current forward Karim Benzema,, but appear to more interested in Liverpool Luis Suarez.

Should City even consider selling the Argentine marksman in January? Let us know your thoughts below.
