Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are in dreamland as they are beginning to get linked with the best players in the world with Pep Guardiola at the helm.
According to The Manchester Evening News, City’s new boss has made Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos his top midfield target heading into the transfer window.
Reports have suggested that Guardiola was desperate to make Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan his first signing, whilst also being heavily linked with Juventus starlet Paul Pogba.
The former Barcelona boss worked with Kroos three years ago when he arrived at Bayern Munich, before selling the 26-year-old to Madrid- but Guardiola will most likely face stiff competition from Chelsea and Manchester United as both clubs have been heavily linked with midfielder.
Punters in the Tavern have been speculating that Guardiola could be targeting Kroos as a replacement for Yaya Toure, whose future is in doubt.
