The Daily Mail have moved to reassure punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern with their latest claim about Manchester City.
Punters are leaving the pool table, putting the food menus down and looking to our landlord to tell them all about the news.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has spoken out about one of his forwards – Stevan Jovetic – and noted that despite the injury problems and the lack of form the summer arrival has shown, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Jovetic has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium but as our punters note, he should be given time to fit in and settle, especially given he is still so young.
Manager Pellegrini seems to agree, claiming that the issues suffered by the £22 million summer signing are not mental, and he has plenty of time to recover.
He claimed: “It’s very difficult to know. I believe what the player says.
“He says he has a muscle problem and I’m absolutely sure he has a muscle problem.
“I always believe that a player cannot do it unless he feels he can do it.
“At the end of the season, maybe I change my opinion. But at the moment, I continue trusting him.”
As our Chelsea and Arsenal punters note, how City fans can moan about having three world class forwards and the fact that their biggest issue is an unfit fourth one is beyond them!
Will Jovetic come good at Manchester City or does his long-term future reside away from the Etihad Stadium? Let us know your thoughts below.
