Manchester City reportedly sent scouts to watch future star Sandro Tonali in Italy on Monday night.
The midfielder has turned heads throughout Europe’s top divisions with his consistently outstanding performances for Brescia in recent seasons, most notably playing a key part in their recent promotion to Serie A.
Tonali made 34 appearances for Le Rondinelle during their incredible 2018/2019 campaign, scoring three goals and providing seven assists (via Transfermarkt), proving crucial to Brescia’s Serie B title win.
As a result, the 19-year-old has attracted major interest from Europe’s top clubs, including Premier League champions City.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, the midfielder was being watched by Sky Blue admirers in his most recent league outing.
The Citizens reportedly sent scouts over to Italy in order to keep tabs on the youngster, watching from the stands as Brescia drew 0-0 at home to Fiorentina.
Indeed, with the likes of Fernandinho and David Silva reaching the twilight stages of their careers – it could be time for fresh young faces to start making their way to the Etihad.
If Tonali keeps on shining in this newly-promoted Brescia side, it could only be a matter of time before he is officially approached by Pep Guardiola as part of City’s planning for the future.
