As according to the Daily Star, the Citizens could be forced to sell the England international midfielder to the highest bidder in January as he continues to stall over a new deal.
The former Aston Villa and Leeds United midfielder is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium next summer and there is a real risk he could leave on a free at the end of the 2014/15 campaign.
Manchester City chiefs have offered the midfielder a new deal but he is yet to agree on the terms on the table.
He is currently valued at £15 million by Manuel Pellegrini but he could leave for as little as £5 million in January as clubs sense a bargain.
The 28-year-old counts as one of the clubs’ homegrown players so Pellegrini is unlikely to let the player leave without a struggle.
However, City chiefs have already kept tabs on Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse if they are unable to keep Milner at the club.
