It seems that Real Madrid are all the rage here in the Football Transfer Tavern courtesy of the Daily Mirror.
The publication’s claims have interested not one but two of our Premier League clubs, with a move for Manchester City star Sergio Aguero set to start off a chain of events.
As one of our punters notes, after buying £86 million Gareth Bale from Tottenham, the Spanish side will have to sell before they can buy and City’s Sergio Aguero will not come cheap.
That means that Los Blancos are looking to offload Karim Benzema, who will be sold to Arsenal – according to the Mirror – in order for Carlo Ancelotti’s men to finance a move for the Argentine forward.
That is great news for Arsenal fans who are desperate for a top class forward to come into the club this summer and push them up to the next level.
Given there have been constant links surrounding a move away from the Gunners for Olivier Giroud, we think that there could well be a summer of striker swaps taking place – and as our landlord remarks they will not come cheap.
Will City dent Arsenal’s Benzema hopes by holding onto Sergio Aguero this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
