Manchester City fans finally have some good news according to the Daily Mail today in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed that the club are set to move ahead of Real Madrid in the race for Sevilla’s Jesus Navas.
The club have been considering a move for the winger and due to Real Madrid looking to land the Spanish international, have finally been pushed into action. Real Madrid are eyeing the player as a replacement for Angel Di Maria who given Jose Mourinho is leaving probably followed by the rest of ‘Team Mendes’ and is now looking for another club and is believed to be in talks with Paris Saint-Germain.
Sevilla would prefer to sell the tricky player to City not only because that is not aiding a domestic rival but also because they feel that that would represent the most lucrative option. Navas has a £30 million buy out clause yet neither Real or City are currently willing to pay this with both sides hovering around the £15 million mark.
The 27-year-old may be reaching the peak of his career but both sides are mindful of the fact that they are not getting a spring chicken and with the clubs set to battle it out for Isco to boot, money could well be sacrificed on the Navas deal.
Will City come out on top in the race to land Jesus Navas? Let us know your thoughts below.
