Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are happy to hear that their club are getting their business done early this summer, even before the Euros!
According to The Telegraph, City have taken their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan one step further and have agreed a deal to sign the midfielder and the move could be completed in a matter of days.
Last week punters in the Tavern were informed that their new boss Pep Guardiola wanted the German international, despite his most recent knee injury.
The board at the Etihad Stadium have granted the Spanish tactician his wish and they are expected to complete a deal this week worth an initial £20.1 million.
The fee could rise by an £1.5 million to £21.6 million depending on the player’s success at the club, due to various bonuses and clauses.
Our resident Citizens here in the Transfer Tavern feel this would be a fantastic signing for the club, and is the first piece in an exciting jigsaw that Guardiola is creating at the Etihad.
