Manchester Evening News have a shocking claim for punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication claim that Manchester City are determined to add a world class forward to their ranks this summer despite their current striking riches.
As one of our punters notes, this is quite cheeky given they already have world class talent at their disposal and now they want to land Radamel Falcao as well.
The Monaco forward currently facing a long spell on the sidelines after injuring his cruciate ligaments for the second time in his career.
After such a long injury layoff we are slightly concerned that the Colombian forward may lose some of his pace, but it seems Manuel Pellegrini does not share our concerns.
Chelsea are also keen on the former Atletico Madrid player with Jose Mourinho making it clear he feels the player should be performing to a crowd of far more than 3,000 at the Stade Louis II each week.
Chelsea, as our punters note, are in dire need of a top forward themselves but Manchester City are considering off loading Edin Dzeko in order to land Falcao.
Dzeko will not be short of suitors and one regular makes the point that Chelsea could well do worse than netting the third choice Manchester City striker. He can’t do a worse job than Fernando Torres after all!
Is there any potential in Falcao moving to City or is this just media hype? Let us know your thoughts below.
