Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are drawing up a list of potential home grown players to join the club after the Daily Mirror revealed they are targeting Tottenham defender Danny Rose.
Rose, who is 24, would be a vital acquisition as it is expected City’s current fullback, Aleksandar Kolarov, will be offloaded in the summer.
And as well youth being on top of City’s agenda when spending in the summer, they must also target home grown players, to allow them to register their squad for the Premier League and Champions League next season.
If Daniel Levy is able to drive City into spending big money for Rose, then Spurs may be tempted to offload him.
Because this would give Ben Davies an opportunity in the first team, after signing him from Swansea for £9m last summer.
It is believed Tottenham will push for a deal in the region of £10m but even if City match this figure, it would be a matter of convincing Rose to join.
Because he may not be willing to sacrifice first team football, as he may have to settle for the City’s bench!
